Reciprocal Admissions Program

last modified May 21, 2012

Society membership gives admission to over 250 public gardens in North America.

New England Wild Flower Society participates in The American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP), which encourages people to visit public gardens while traveling throughout North America.

By presenting their New England Wild Flower Society membership card, our personal level members now have access to a wide array of botanical gardens, arboreta, and conservatories throughout North America - more than 270 organizations in 44 states, plus Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands - offering free or discounted admission privileges and many other benefits.  Sorry, this benefit is not available to our organizational members.

The most up-to-date list of participating gardens, as well as details on how to enjoy the benefits of RAP, can be found in the AHS online directory

Please note that New England Wild Flower Society enforces the AHS 90 mile exclusion. Any member of an AHS member garden within 90 miles of our headquarters at Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA is not entitled to reciprocal admission. However, a few gardens which fall within that 90 mile radius offer free admission, so they can be visited at no cost even without reciprocal admissions

The excluded gardens are (those that offer free admission are noted):

     Arnold Arboretum (MA) FREE

Botanic Garden of Smith College (MA) FREE

Elm Bank Horticulture Center (MA) FREE

     Heritage Museums and Gardens (MA)

     Tower Hill Botanic Garden (MA)

Wellesley College Botanic Garden (MA) FREE

Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum (RI)

     Green Animals Topiary Garden (RI)

In addition, from time to time we will offer specific time periods for reciprocal admission to otherwise excluded gardens. Email membership@newenglandwild to learn about upcoming special reciprocal offers.

As the participating gardens may be changed at any time by AHS without our knowledge, please contact us at membership@newenglandWILD.org if you wish to check the exclusion status of any New England gardens in the online directory.  Thank you.
